Throughout the years, Dr. Allen has had the pleasure of working in schools, private practices, outpatient clinics, and children’s hospitals which have provided her with a breadth of clinical experience and exposure to working with a diverse array of helping professionals including pediatricians, psychiatrists, therapists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and social workers.
About Dr. Allen
Dr. Allen is a licensed psychologist with 19 years of experience in evaluation and assessment of children, adolescents, and adults, undergraduate and graduate teaching, and individual and group supervision in multiple settings including medical and psychiatric hospitals, private practices, universities and colleges, community mental health centers, and non-profit organizations. Her experiences have provided her with a breadth of clinical experience and exposure to working with a diverse array of helping professionals including pediatricians, psychiatrists, mental health therapists/counselors, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, ABA therapists, and social workers, among others.
Dr. Allen’s specialty areas comprise neurodevelopmental disorders including intellectual impairment, autism, ADHD, and learning disorders as well as comorbid psychiatric disorders, special education planning and programming, mental status, guardianship, competency, and expert testimony. Dr. Allen’s training includes undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral level degrees in counseling and psychology (Oral Roberts University and Ball State University). She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) program funded through the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) and Maternal Child Health Bureau (MCHB) at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Allen has held a faculty appointment at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine specializing in psychological evaluation as well as teaching of medical residents. She is currently in private practice (Renee L. Allen – Licensed Psychologist, P.L.L.C.) in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she and her team provide psychological evaluations to individuals across the lifespan. She is honored to be a referring partner of numerous hospitals, clinics, agencies, organizations, and individual practitioners in the Greater Tulsa area and beyond.
